Taguchi 1932

Taguchi, Shogo. Modigliani. Tokyo: Atelier-sha, 1932. Monograph.

One year after Éditions Kinseido came out with the first Japanese monograph on Modigliani, the painter Shogo [often erroneously written as Seigo] Taguchi (1897–1943) published this more expansive book, which featured thirty-five paintings with many reproduced in color. After studying art in Paris, Taguchi returned to Japan where he befriended Tsuguharu Foujita (1886–1968) who had been a close friend of Modigliani's in the French capital.
