This is the first interactive online catalogue dedicated to documenting the paintings of Amedeo Modigliani (1884–1920). It is not a catalogue raisonné rather it is intended as a scholarly resource, representing in-depth, fact-based research into Modigliani’s life and circle, with the goal of providing a greater understanding of his art. This first phase of the digital catalogue includes the 59 paintings in public institutions in the United States that were published in I dipinti di Modigliani, the 1970 catalogue by Italian scholar Ambrogio Ceroni (1907–1970) and will be followed by further installments.
