Solo exhibition

1933 Brussels

Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels, Modigliani, November 4–26, 1933 (exhibition catalogue).

This large-scale retrospective, featuring nearly 150 paintings and drawings by Modigliani on loan from collections and dealers in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States, was organized by an impressive roster of art critics, collectors, artists, dealers, and museum and government officials. The involvement of Maud Dale (1876–1953) meant that the Dale Collection was well-represented with seven paintings. Much of the exhibition then traveled to Basel where it opened in January 1934.
